In south Sardinia, amongst the mountains of Sulcis, a beautifull and important mountain area where there is the biggest forest of mediterranean maquis, World Wildlife Found had build an oasis to preserve the sardinian deer. A really beautiful place for a journey.
Collaboration agreement has been signed between Moys-Marina di Olbia and Marina di Genova Aeroporto. The partnership has been started at the beginning of May. It's the first time that in Mediterranean sea two marinas signed a cooperation agreement which will lead to important joint initiatives with a view to improve numbers and quality of services that the two marinas will offer to boaters who sail the Mediterranean sea.
A new female of manatee arrived in Genova's acquarium in the first days of may. It's a part of a protection program of endangered species whose goal is the reproduction in a controlled environment of the manatees.
248 Blue Flags -really important eco label awarded to beaches and marinas across many countries in the world- were assigned to italian beaches.
The Blue Flag program promote sustainable development. The evaluation is based on a strictly criterias about water quality, environmental education and information, safety and other services.
7 Blue Flags were awarded to Sardinia, three of them were assigned to Gallura: La Maddalena ( Punta Tegge e Spalmatore), Palau (Palau Vecchio e Sciumara) and Santa Teresa Gallura (Rena Bianca). The other places who gained the Blue Flag are Castelsardo (Ampurias), Quartu Sant'Elena (Poetto), Oristano (Torre Grande) and Tortolì.
It seems that Gallura is a paradise for sea lovers. At the end of 2012, Gallura was also defined, by the National Observatory (ONN), the best place for nautical tourism. (photo: Hotel Abi D'Oru - Costa Smeralda)
Orecchiette pasta is not properly a traditional pasta of Carloforte - little and fantastic island in the south west of Sardinia- but the ingredients of this recipe, pecorino cheese and wild fennel, calls to mind the flavours of Sardinia while basil and pine nuts remind the ligurian origin of Carloforte's people. Would you like an english translation of the recipe ? Join us on facebook, search the recipe in photo album and ask for it in a comment box. We will be very happy to translate and publish it on FB!
